There are two types of dreams - those you have while sleeping and those you have while awake.
Sleeping Dreams: your subconscious is trying to have a dialogue with you. That dialogue takes the form of words, images, emotions - an explosion of symbols and meanings. Sometimes they are so literal and other times - you need time to decipher. I find I go through many moments of my life with either lots of dreams that I remember or I am not really aware I am dreaming (like I haven’t had a dream in a long time.)
Awake Dreams: these are the day dreams. My mind starts to wonder and I find myself transported to some other place. These day dreams take many forms for me…I could be on a white soft sandy beach with rhythmic calming small waves or on a mountainside looking out and seeing the beauty of the mountains with lots of greens and blue sky with white powder puff clouds.
For as many years as I can remember - I seem to have one dream in particular that is both in my sleep and awake dreams…it has something to do with a motorcycle.
In my sleep dreams, my subconscious seems to say - on a motorcycle I am truly free and it feels like I am flying. In my awake world, I think to myself could I really ride a motorcycle? Could I really start to take the steps to make this happen? And then I hear the words said out loud, “YES, YOU CAN”.

Today, I am taking delivery of my first motorcycle. I have been counting down the days and hours to this very moment. I have butterflies in my stomach and my emotions are high. I feel the tears of joy welling inside of me. And the best of all, my first motorcycle comes fully loaded with more dreams and lots of adventures. It’s a very special edition. (Written June 2012)
